About Dota Specialty El Cedral
Cooperdota RL was born on October 14, 1960, thanks to the vision and courage of 96 small coffee producers, who
together were able to raise 29 thousand colones, to buy the mill (where the Cooperative is currently located) from
the National Bank. Each one contributed 10 colones per bushel
Since 1960, we have believed in this region; connected and surrounded by great mountains, we have worked with
passion one bean at a time.
Grateful for the wealth, for the altitude of our lands, and above all for our roots. From the mountains of our valley,
where only birds can reach, we have captivated with our coffee aroma.
For the hard work of our 900 coffee producers part of Coopedota, our commitment with the environment and the
quality of our coffee; we have been present daily in the lives of our clients in Costa Rica and all over the world.
We are the first Carbon Neutral Certify Coffee from the world, since 2011 until today.
Our coffee producers are from Dota, Tarrazú and León Cortes Cantons, and part of Tarrazú Coffee Region. This
region produces 42% of all the coffee that is produce in Costa Rica.
Coopedota´s microlote program is to be able to offer to our clients the best specialty coffees form our coffee
producers. To be able to be part of this program, coffee producers have to be certify previusly and the have to bring
separate the small coffee lots 100% mature and with a 20% Brix. Here we receive special coffee varieties and
special farms that are in the highest lands of the region.
This coffee is from Cedral Farm that is based in the highest lands of Dota Valley. The owners of this farm are the 900
coffee producers and it is administrated by Coopedota. In this farm we have a garden of coffee varieties and this
microlote is fromMillenial variety and every year we have an spacial small lote like this one in different process.
